Men’s Golf update

The Men’s Golf team finished the season ranked 15th in the West Region and 74th Nationally. The team was led by senior captain Kyeton Littel, from Maui, with a stroke average of 75.38. Hilo natives RicYamamoto (76.46) and Casey Tamura (83.00) completed their senior seasons with the team. Kyeton, along with freshmen teammate Jared Kinoshita (from Bakersfield, CA) were named to the all PACWEST third team.  Jared, who was the individual champion at the Hawaii Challenge, will be the only returning member to next year’s team.  Other members of the team were David Tottori from Las Vegas, NV; and Conor Morley of Palm Dessert, CA.  David had a hole-in-one on the 9th hole at Olympia Country Club during the Saint Martin’s Invitational tournament.

The assistant coach, Ron Takahashi has a great outlook on this upcoming season, “Our outlook for the upcoming 2016-2017 season is very upbeat.  We have seven promising new recruits joining our program.  Two are from Hawaii – Preston Ching from Hilo (Kamehameha-Keaau), and Trevor Kua from Kauai; two from Canada; two from Oregon; and one from California.”

Their season goals have been set high as they anticipate getting back into the National Championship tournament next post season.
