Women’s Soccer Update

Women’s soccer finished 5-9-3 overall and 4-9 in the PacWest. The ladies started out strong with a 3-1-3 record, including five overtime games. A season-opening stalemate with nationally-recognized Simon Fraser University, Tiera Arakawa’s overtime goal against Chaminade and a double-overtime tie with BYU-Hawaii were followed by Abcde Zoller’s game-winner over Notre Dame de Namur as the Vulcans entered game five undefeated. Set back by Fresno Pacific, the Vulcans bounced back with a 2-0 win over Academy of Art University and a tie with regional power Cal State Los Angeles. Having just four players departed, Okamura’s women’s team will look at four-year starting goalie Jenna Hufford to direct the team with senior Annabelle Gonzalez and sophomore Tiera Arakawa running the middle.
